Softmaster begins
Softmaster Technologies (Pvt) Ltd opens in Sri Lanka in 2003 as a software engineering firm with 23 years of enterprise software experience, building ERP, POS and custom systems for businesses across the country. The habits formed here, careful process and support that answers, still shape how Engage Lanka works today.
Design finds a home
Clients keep asking for the front end of their business as well as the back end. Websites, branding and marketing become a growing part of the work inside Softmaster, handled by a small group who care about how things look as much as how they run.
Engage Lanka is formed
The design and digital marketing side becomes its own company. Engage Lanka launches in 2024 in Kandy with a dedicated team, its own studio culture and a clear remit: build the kind of digital work that Sri Lankan businesses had usually looked overseas for.
Local roots, global work
Expanding rapidly, Engage Lanka began serving international clients across ecommerce, hospitality, logistics and trading sectors while introducing AI search and GEO services. Today we work with clients across Sri Lanka and in Australia, UAE, UK, Qatar and USA, from our studio in Kandy.

Do you work with clients outside Sri Lanka?
Yes. We work with businesses in Australia, UAE, UK, Qatar, and USA. Sri Lanka's time zone gives us good overlap with the UK, Europe, the Gulf, India and Australia, and we work in English throughout.
How big is your team?
12 people across design, development, content, video and marketing, with additional engineering support from Softmaster Technologies when a project calls for it.
What size businesses do you work with?
Anything from a single owner guesthouse to established companies with several branches. Our smallest projects start around LKR 95,000 and our largest run into custom development over several months.
Who owns the work you produce?
You do. Domain, hosting, source code, design files and account access are all registered in your name and handed over. We do not hold anything back.
